14th Rajputana Rifles Regimental Reunion

The 14th Regimental Reunion of the Rajputana Rifles Regiment is in progress at The Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre. On 25 Nov each year, Remembrance Day is observed at the Veer Sthal to commemorate the sacrifice of both known and unknown martyrs who have made the supreme sacrifice for the honour of the Regiment and the country. Wreaths were laid by Maj Gen KT Parnaik, Colonel of the Regiment, Lt Gen Raj Kadyan (Retd), President of Rajputana Rifles Officers Association (RROA) and Commanding Officers of the Regiment. Maj WJ Yeoman laid a wreath on behalf of British RAJ RIF Officers Association. This was followed by solemn ceremony to honour the War Widows and battle casualties of the Regiment. During this solemn occasion, RAJPUTANA RIFLES completed its Tri Service Affiliation when 1 SQUADRON AIR FORCE and RAJPUTANA RIFLES flags were exchanged and the affiliation charter was signed by Maj Gen KT Parnaik, Colonel of the Regiment and Air Vice Marshal Anil Chopra, Commodore Commandant of 1 SQUADRON AIR FORCE.

At the end of the ceremony, a first day cover to commemorate the 14th Regimental Reunion, 'VASUNDHARA' the Regimental Journal and a book on Post Independence Battle Honours and Gallantry Awards won by the Regiment were released by Colonel of the Regiment. Thereafter, the Rajputana Rifles Officers Association (RROA) AGM was held at the Officers mess. The RROA is a forum established to encourage camaraderie and brotherhood amongst serving & retired officers of the Regiment, besides providing grants to needy families of ex-servicemen. This was attended by a large gathering of Serving and Retired Officers of the Regiment including 14 Octogenarians.
