The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following new appointments:-
(i) Dr. Subas Chandra Pani, IAS (OR:72), presently Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development, as Secretary in the Planning Commission vice Shri Rajeeva Ratan Shah, IAS (UP:67) (Retd.), Member Secretary, Planning Commission with immediate effect from the date Shri Shah demits the office of Member Secretary, Planning Commission.
(ii) Dr. (Ms.) Rita Sharma, IAS (UP:74), presently Additional Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture, as Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development vice Dr. Subas Chandra Pani.

The Competent Authority has approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Disinvestment, Ministry of Finance, to Dr. D. Subba Rao, IAS(AP:72), Finance Secretary and Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance with immediate effect and until further orders.
