Alumina and Aluminium sales in November

The National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a public sector unit of the Ministry of Mines sold 1,00,216 tonnes of Alumina during November 2003 exceeding the target of 98,000 tonnes. This includes Alumina export of 97,866 tonnes and domestic sale of 2350 tonnes. Out of 142,200 tonnes of Calcined Alumina produced in the month, 44,070 tonnes was despatched for smelting and 82,775 tonnes was despatched to port for export. The cumulative sale has been 5,84,998 tonnes against the target of 6,51,000 tonnes.

During the month 9,996 tonnes of aluminium metal was exported against the monthly target of 11,800 tonnes. The cumulative export has been 87,377 tonnes against the target of 91,900 tonnes and that is 21.8% more as compared to same period of previous year.

During the month, 13,907 tonnes of aluminium metal was sold in domestic market exceeding the monthly target of 11,450 tonnes. The cumulative domestic sale has been 106,948 tonnes exceeding the target of 96,700 tonnes. The same is 28.02% more compared to the same period of last year.

The total metal sale during the month has been 23,903 tonnes exceeding the target of 23,250 tonnes and the cumulative sale has been 1,94,324 tonnes exceeding the target of 1,88,600 tonnes. The same is 23.48% more compared to the same period of last year.
