Rajya Sabha

  Based on the National Curriculum Fremework – 2005, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has developed new textbooks for the following Classes and subjects.

            All the original editions (50 titles) required for the Classes and subjects mentioned in the reply (a) have already been published.

            All the reprint titles for Classes I, III,V, VI, VIII, IX and XI were made available well before time across the country for the academic session 2007-08.

            NCERT makes the textbooks available to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated schools through the network of 235 wholesale agents, and not through private publishers.

            This information was given by the Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shri M.A.A. Fatmi in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
