Prof. Saifuddin Soz, the Union Minister for Water Resources has assured the Puducherry Chief Minister Shri V. Vaithilingam that his Ministry would extend all possible cooperation and assistance to the State in implementing various schemes related to water and irrigation sectors.
Prof. Soz gave this assurance when the Puducherry Chief Minister met him today and apprised him of the various problems relating to water and irrigation sectors in his State. The Chief Minister asked for Central assistance in Flood Control and Management Scheme to tackle flood and erosion problems in the State. Prof. Soz asked him to send a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and his Ministry would examine it and take appropriate measures. He also suggested to the Chief Minister to seek assistance in preparation of DPR from various specialized agencies of the Ministry of Water Resources like the WAPCOS and Central Water Commission.
