India and Brunei discuss possibilities of cooperation in Port & Shipping sector

The Deputy Minister of Communications of Brunei Dato Paduka Haji Yussof bin Haji Abd Hamid called on the Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Thiru T.R. Baalu here today and discussed the possibility of cooperation in the Port and Shipping sector.

The two sides also explored the possibility of cooperation in the area of LNG Shipping. The visiting Minister discussed the expansion and upgradation of their Ports with Indian assistance.

The two sides discussed the issues of mutual cooperation in the field of port and shipping sector paving the way for entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries in near future.

The Brunei delegation also included the High Commissioner of Brunei H. E. Haji Abdul Ghafar bin Haji Ismail and other officials. From the Indian side, Shri D.T. Joseph, Secretary (Shipping), Shri L.K. Joshi, Secretary (Roads) and other senior officials were present during the meeting.
