Director of South Korean Pohang Steel Company (POSCO), Mr. T. H. Jeong today met the Union Mines Minister, Shri Sis Ram Ola and briefed him regarding the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Government of Orissa on setting up of a 12 million tonne Steel plant at Paradip at a cost of Rs.51,000 crore. However, in the first phase, it will build a steel plant of 3 million tonne capacity. The Mines Secretary, Shri A.K.D. Jadhav was also present.
