Prime Minister calls on President

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, called on the President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The meeting lasted 35 minutes. It was part of the regular interactions between the two leaders. The Prime Minister’s just concluded visit to Russia and his discussions with the leaders there and the Prime Minister’s forthcoming visit to Kuala Lumpur to attend the Indo-ASEAN summit were discussed. The current Parliament session also figured during the discussions.

The President apprised the Prime Minister about his visit to earthquake affected areas in J&K. He also informed the Prime Minister about his aerial survey of flood affected areas in Tamil Nadu and subsequent discussions with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu about relief and rehabilitation work there.
