The Government has attached the SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Kattankulathur, Kanchipuram is included under the ambit of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Channai (Deemed University) subject to the following conditions:
The SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre shall not admit any student without obtaining prior approval from the Medical Council of India;
Any advertisement/public notice issued by SRM Institute of Science and Technology in the interim period will specifically state that the inclusion of Medical College in the ambit of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, (Deemed University) by UGC is provisional and subject to the approval of Medical Council of India.
The Government has conferred this status by Section 3 of the University Grants commission Act, 1956 on the advice of the University Grants Commission.
