Web Enabled Ground Water Information System

Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) is developing a “Web Enabled Ground Water Information System (GWIS)” in view of the data dissemination. GWIS is an internet based GIS system which will provide a platform for accessing the ground water related data/maps/information policy planning and management.

GWIS will comprise the spatial data base infrastructure and a well established communication system connected through Internet/Intranet alongwith security measures. The data from GWIS will be disseminated as per the Map Restriction Policy of the Government of India.

CGWB is proposing to develop Web Enabled Material Management, Administrative and Financial Management. Software for better governance and management of resources and to provide Citizen interface in the 11th Five Year Plan.

The proposed system to be developed will comprise of – Development of web-enabled unified Administrative and Financial Management System; Development of web-enabled Drilling operations Management System; Development of web-enabled Unified Material management System; and Development of National Ground Water Information System.
