(a) Statement showing State-wise number of homeless people living in -urban areas, as
provided by Registrar General of India is enclosed.
(b) Ever increasing population and migration of people from rural to urban areas.
(c) It has been decided to review and revise National Housing and
Habitat Policy, 1998 so as to accelerate supply of serviced land and housing
to all categories particularly for the poor people. For this purpose, a Task
Force has also been constituted.
