Question : NPYAD SCHEME



(a) whether the Government has introduced various initiatives/ programmes under the National Programme for Youth and Adolescent Development (NPYAD) in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the States covered under the scheme;

(c) the total funds allocated/ released/ utilized under the scheme during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise; and

(d) the extent to which the scheme has achieved its objectives so far?

THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL)

(a)&(b): Yes Madam. Under the National Programme for Youth and Adolescent Development (NPYAD) of the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports, programmes for
(i) Youth Leadership and Personality Development Training;
(ii) Promotion of National Integration;
(iii) Promotion of Adventure;
(iv) Development and Empowerment of Adolescents; and
(v) Technical and Resource Development, are conducted. Under the Scheme, proposals are invited from States/UTs Governments, State Level NGOs and All India Level Organisations for considering financial assistance to conduct various programmes under the Scheme.

(c)&(d): The details of funds released under the NPYAD scheme during the last three years and the current year State-wise, is given at Annexure. The scheme has satisfactorily achieved its objectives.
