(a) the details of proposals received by the Government from various States under the various schemes for poverty alleviation and employment generation during the last three years and current year, State-wise;

(b) the number of proposals cleared and the number of proposals still pending, State-wise, along with the reasons for pendency; and

(c) the steps taken/being taken by the Government to clear all the pending projects?

THE MINISTER OF HOUSING & URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION (SHRI AJAY MAKEN)

(a) to (c): The Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation is implementing scheme of Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) which aims to provide gainful employment to the urban unemployed and under-employed poor, by encouraging setting up of self employment ventures by the urban poor living below the poverty line, skills training and also through providing wage employment by utilizing their labour for construction of socially and economically useful public assets.

Under the SJSRY scheme, the States/UTs are not required to send proposals to the Ministry. The funds under the scheme are tentatively allocated among the States/UTs taking into account the incidence of urban poor population / urban population and released only after they fulfill the prescribed criteria. A Statement showing State-wise funds released and physical progress under Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) during the last three years and current year are at Annexure-I and II respectively.
