Question : Reserved Item for MSME Sector

(a) whether certain products have been put under the list of items reserved for exclusive manufacture in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) sector to protect and promote the said products;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the stipulation made in the policy of such reservation;

(c) whether there has been any requests to include more products under the reserved category; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto and the other measure being taken by the Government to provide protection and facilities to the MSME sector in country?

(a) & (b): Government of India, vide notification no. S.O. 998(E) dated 10.04.2015 has dereserved the remaining 20 items from the erstwhile list of items reserved for exclusive manufacture in SSI (now – Micro and Small Enterprises) sector. Therefore, as on date, there is no item reserved for exclusive manufacture in SSI (Now-MSE) sector.

(c): No, Madam.

(d): The Government implements a number of schemes in the arena of finance, infrastructure, technology upgradation and marketing to facilitate the growth of MSME Sector.
