Question : VIOLATIONS OF INDIAN AIRSPACE



(a) whether Indian airspace violations by Pakistani remote pilotless vehicles have been going on as reported in the Rashtriya Sahara dated May, 21, 2001;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government have taken up this issue with Pakistan; and

(d) if so, the reaction of Pakistan thereto?

(a)&(b) Government have seen the press report of Indian airspace violations by Pakistani remote pilotless aircraft, appearing in the Rashtriya Sahara dated 21 May 2001.

(c)&(d) Under the provisions of the `Agreement between India and Pakistan on Prevention of Air Space Violations and For Permitting Over Flights and Landings by Military Aircraft` signed by India and Pakistan in 1991, Government have been taking up all cases of airspace violation by Pakistan.
