(a) whether the Government has received the report of Vaish Committee on Streamlining Prosecution Mechanism under the Companies Act, 1956;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the action so far taken by the Government thereon; and

(c) the extent to which it is likely to help in reducing the cases in the courts?

(a), (b) & (c) Yes Sir, the Government has received the Report of the Committee headed by Shri O.P.Vaish on Streamlining Prosecution Mechanism under the Companies Act, 1956 on 19.10.2005. The Report examines the types of cases filed under various provisions of the Companies Act, 1956 before the Courts and makes suggestions for expediting their disposal. The Report has been examined and instructions issued to the field offices of the Ministry for follow up of cases filed in relevant courts as per provisions of law. It is expected that such follow up would enable expeditious disposal of the cases in question.
