Question : WAGE NEGOTIATION FOR PORT OFFICERS WORKERS



(a) the total expenditure incurred for conducting the wage negotiation with the Federation of Port workers, Port officers and Port Officer Association; and

(b) the total amount paid to the retired port officers engaged in the process of wage negotiation for port officers and workers separately?

(a) The expenditure incurred for conducting the wage negotiations with the Federation of Port workers is Rs. 33,06,484/- upto 31.03.2000. The expenditure incurred for conducting the wage negotiation with the Port officers and the Port Officer Association is as under:

i) Expenditure incurred by Pay Revision Committee under the heads - salaries, TA/DA, Miscellaneous expenses, telephone/ postage/ fax, printing and stationery and furniture and fixtures during the period October 1996 to February 1999 - Rs. 23,67,422.95.
ii) Expenditure incurred by the implementation cell (Pay Revision Committee) from February 1999 to February 2000 - Rs. 8,25,171.93.

(b) The total amount paid to the retired port officers engaged in the process of wage negotiations for workers is Rs. 3,17,794/-. An amount of Rs. 38,584/- was paid to Sh.A.P. Ghosh (Retired officer of Calcutta Port Trust), Secretary Officers` Federation as TA/DA.
