(a) whether facility to exchange soiled currency notes is not available in all the branches of commercial banks; and
(b) if so, the reasons therefor and the steps taken to provide this facility in all branches of commercial banks in order to obviate the difficulties being faced by the common people in this regard ?

(a):- Reserve Bank of India have reported that the facility to exchange soiled currency notes is, in the normal course, available in all the branches of commercial banks. The facility for exchange of defective and mutilated is made available at all the branches of the Public Sector Banks and currency chest branches of private sector banks.
