Question : Development of MSME Sector

(a) whether the Government has provided adequate financial support and facilities to the Karnataka Government for the development of MSME sector in the State;

(b) if so, the details thereof during the last three years, year-wise; and

(c) the effective measures the Government has taken to impart requisite training and support to the entrepreneurs in MSME sector of the state and in particular to the women entrepreneurs?

(a) & (b): Ministry of MSME implements various schemes and programmes for the overall growth and development of MSME Sector in the country including in the state of Karnataka. The financial support under these schemes /programmes goes directly to the beneficiary or the designated implementing agencies and not to the state Government. However, the details of the major schemes in the state of Karnataka of the Ministry during the last three years, year-wise are as under:

(c): Ministry of MSME implements the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme across the country including the in state of Karnataka to motivate youth representing different sections of the society including women to promote self employment or entrepreneurship as one of the career options. The ultimate objective is to promote new enterprises, capacity building of existing MSMEs and inculcating entrepreneurial culture in the country.
