(a) the details of loans sanctioned and distributed by NABARD in the North-Eastern
Region during the last three years, State-wise;.
(b) the details of assistance provided by mutual funds and financial institutions
to the States during the said period. State-wise: and
(c) the details of projects for which the said institutions provided loans/assistance ?

(SHRI ARUN SHOURIE) :
(a) NABARD provides refinance assistance to commercial banks, regional rural banks and
cooperative banks for their on lending to the borrowers. Loans are also provided by NABARD
to the States from Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). As per the available
information, the details of refinance assistance and loans provided to the North Eastern
States including Sikkim by NABARD during the last three years are given in the Statement
enclosed.
The projects for which NABARD provided loans from RIDF are rural bridges, rural roads,
mini hydel projects, minor irrigation, soil conservation, animal husbandry, public health,
rubber plantation, cooperative storages, market yards/godowns, primary schooi, water
supply etc.
(b) and (c) As regards details of assistance provided by financial institutions and mutual
funds, information is being collected from various sources and will be laid on [he Table of
the House.
