(a) As per the information received from citizen corner of KhoyaPaya portal as on 09.12.2018, as total number of 5195 children out of ‘sighted’ children reported on the portal have been repatriated to their homes and 283 children out of ‘missing’ children reported on the portal have been repatriated to their homes respectively.

(a) As per the information received from the Government of Maharashtra, district-wise number of operational and non-operational Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) in Maharashtra is at Annexure-I.

(b) Anganwadi Services Scheme is implemented by the States / UTs as per guidelines/instructions issued by Government of India. The role of Government of India is to issue guidelines/instructions for scheme implementation, release of funds in the prescribed cost sharing ratio. All the issues pertaining to implementation of the scheme including timely payment of the honorarium to Anganwadi Workers (AWWs)/ Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) rests with the concerned States/UTs.

(c) The Government has enhanced the honorarium of AWWs from 3000/- per month to 4500/- ; AWW at mini–AWCs from Rs.2250/- to Rs. 3500/- per month; AWHs from Rs. 1500/- to Rs. 2250/- ; and introduced performance linked incentive of Rs. 250/- per month to AWHs effective from 1st October, 2018. AWW is also entitled to an incentive of Rs. 500/- per month for using ICDS-CAS under POSHAN Abhiyaan. In addition to the honorarium paid by the Government of India, the respective State/UTs are giving monetary incentives to these workers out of their own resources.

(d) & (e) Government of India sanctions the AWCs on the basis of requirements received from States/UTs. Implementation of the scheme including operationalization of AWCs rests with the States/UTs. However, the matter of operationalization of non-operational AWCs is reviewed by the Government with States/UTs from time to time. The Ministry has been impressing upon the State Governments/ UT Administrations to take required measures for early operationalisation of all the sanctioned AWCs. Due to these efforts, the number of operational AWCs has increased from 13,63,021 AWCs on 31.03.2018 to 13,77,595 AWCs on 30.6.2019.
