Question : IMPACT ON SOFTWARE EXPORT



(a) whether there has been a setback on on software export due to terrorist attack on World Trade Centre, New York on 11 Septmber, 2001 followed by subsequent war;

(b) if so, the strategy adopted to overcome the impact; and

(c) the steps taken to explore the possibilities of increasing export of software to other countries and to maintain balance in export?

(a) and (b): There has been no impact on IT sector in India specifically because of the terorist attack on World Trade Centre (America).

(c): As a part of its predecided strategy, Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) has been taking steps to explore other thrust markets like that of Latin American countries, Europe, UK, Japan, Australia etc. Global event India Soft is also being organized in Delhi which will provide platform to small and medium companies in India to interact and explore trade possibilities with visiting delegates from various countries.
