Question : CCI

(a) whether the Government has taken cognizance that in view of prevailing situation of economic development and diversity of economy in the country, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) should continue to work even in future as a dynamic regulatory institute and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Government considers special emphasis on the importance of making balancing between the needs for opening economy and socio-economic requirements of the country for international competition; and

(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) CCI is a dynamic regulatory body with the mandate to prevent practices having adverse effect on competition, to promote and sustain competition in markets and to protect the interests of consumers.
