THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY ( SHRI DIGVIJAY SINGH )

( a ) & ( b ) : As per media reports, there were some disturbances in Nepal including the areas close to the Indo-Nepal border which might have resulted in a slow down in the commercial transactions across the border. As there is a time lag between the commercial transactions taking place and the figures of trade being compiled by the DGCIS, Kolkata, it is difficult to compare, at this stage, the quantum of flow of trade during this period and the corresponding period in the previous year.
