Question : Prime Minister’s 15 Point Programme

(a) whether the Prime Minister‘s 15 Point Programme has made any socio-economic and political difference during the last two years and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the funds spent on this Programme during the last two years;
(c) the condition of minorities in the country at present, State-wise; and
(d) the details of comparative study of improvement in their standard of living during the last five years?

(a) to (d): The Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities (PM’s New 15 PP) is an overarching programme which covers various schemes/initiatives of the participating Ministries/Departments with an aim to ensure that the underprivileged and weaker sections of six centrally notified minority communities have equal opportunities for availing the various Government welfare Schemes and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the Country.

The details of funds released under various schemes covered in the Programme during 2018-19 & 2019-20 are given in Annexure.

The performance of schemes/initiatives of Ministries/Departments included in the PM’s New 15 PP, is evaluated by the concerned Ministry/Department and is a continuous process. The schemes of Ministry of Minority Affairs meant exclusively for the six Centrally notified minority communities are regularly evaluated by the Ministry. The brief summary of findings of the evaluation studies conducted in respect of various schemes/programmes of this Ministry, and the other Ministries/Departments covered under the PM’s New 15 PP are available on the Ministry’s website:www.minorityaffairs.gov.in.
