Question : AMRUT in Rajasthan

(a) whether any scheme named by ‘AMRUT Yojana’ is being implemented by the Government;

(b) if so, the name of the selected cities of Rajasthan there under;

(c) the funds sanctioned and released under this scheme; and

(d) the details of its completion status, city-wise?

(a). Yes, Sir. Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) was launched on 25 June 2015 in 500 selected cities across the country. The Mission focuses on the development of basic urban infrastructure in the sectors of water supply, sewerage and septage management, storm water drainage, non-motorised urban transport and development of green spaces and parks. Mission also mandates a set of 11 Reforms for all the Mission cities and Capacity Building activities for the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).The Mission was launched for the period of 5 years from the financial year 2015-16 to the year 2019-20, which has been extended up to 31 March 2021.

(b). List of 29 cities of Rajasthan covered under AMRUT scheme has been given in Annexure-I.

(c). For the State of Rajasthan, State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) amounting to ?3,223.94 crore, which includes committed Central Assistance of ?1,541.95 crore, have been approved for the entire Mission period. So far, Central Assistance of ?1,457.97 crore have been released to the Government of Rajasthan for the implementation of AMRUT projects.

(d). The city-wise details of projects taken up under AMRUT in the State of Rajasthan are given at Annexure – I.
