(a) whether the Government has provided any special package to the newly constituted
States like Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand for providing drinking water in the
rural areas in these States;
(b) if so, the details of funds released to these States under the said package; and
(c) the details of works carried out by these States with the said funds?

(a): The Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation supplements the efforts of the States in
providing safe and adequate drinking water to the rural population by providing financial
and technical assistance under the Centrally sponsored scheme, National Rural Drinking Water
Programme (NRDWP). This Ministry has not provided any special package apart from the allocation
under NRDWP for Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand for provision of drinking water in the
rural areas in these States.
