Question : Discussion on Terrorism in G-20

Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether India has been successful in convincing the European Leaders during the recently held G-20 Summit about the measures taken by it in preventing terrorism;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether India’s 11-point action plan includes prevention of officers of terrorism supporting countries from attending G-20 Summit; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d) The G20 Hamburg Summit was held on 7-8 July 2017.

The Prime Minister presented an 11 point action agenda to the G20 Leaders on countering terrorism. The action agenda included, inter alia, a proposal to ban entry of officers from countries supporting terrorism into G-20 countries. The Hamburg G20 Leaders'' Statement on Countering Terrorism was issued, wherein the G20 Leaders unanimously condemned all terrorist attacks worldwide. They were united and firm in their fight against terrorism and its financing, adding that terrorism is a global scourge that must be fought and terrorist safe havens eliminated in every part of the world.
