Question : CII TEN POINT AGENDA FOR HOT SITES



(a) whether the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) have proposed a ten point agenda for the promotion of hot sites in the country by a consortium of call centre companies, based on the need and demand equation as per the DOT guidelines;

(b) if so, whether these hot sites have been proposed with a view to keep the operations on even in the event of disasters like earthquakes, fire, bomb explosions etc.;

(c) whether the Government have examined the proposal; and

(d) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) to (c) Yes, Sir.

(d) The Government, after examining these proposals, have permitted setting up of independent hot sites. These hot sites would require to be registered as a hot site Call Centre. The independent hot site provider will provide only the infrastructure i.e. building, main server, agent positions, power plant, air conditioner etc. The various call centers desirous of availing hot site facility would provide, dedicated servers/routers at the hot site and necessary leased circuits.
