Question : FOOD AND NUTRITION BOARD



(a) whether the Food and Nutrition Board (FNB) is implementing/ proposes to implement any programme for providing free nutritious food to the pregnant women and children in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the cases of corruption/ irregularities/ malpractices in the FNB have come to the notice of the Government during each of the last three years and the current year;

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the action taken by the Government thereon; and

(e) the corrective steps taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b): No Madam, Food and Nutrition Board (FNB) is not implementing any programme for providing free nutritious food to the pregnant women and children in the country. However, under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme, supplementary nutrition is provided to below six years of age children and pregnant women and lactating mothers at the AnganwadiCentres.

(c) No cases of corruption/ irregularity/ malpractices in the FNB have come to the notice of Government during the said period.

(d) & (e): Does not arise.
