Question : Indus Water Treaty

(a) whether the Government proposes to review the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, if so, the details and the current status thereof;
(b) whether the Government proposes to set up an inter-ministerial committee to study further options on the Indus Water Treaty, if so, the details and aspects of the study thereof;
(c) whether India is fully utilizing the waters available in the allotted water systems under the Indus Water Treaty; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the steps taken/being taken to utilize the same and enable the concerned States including Gujarat for having their proper share from this basin?

(a) & (b) No, Madam.

(c) & (d) Government is exploring ways to fully exploit the rights to develop hydropower storage and irrigated cropped area permitted to India under the Treaty.

Gujarat is not a part of Indus Basin.
