Question : OUTSOURCE AGENCY IN IRCTC



(a) whether the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) and other departments of the Railways have engaged in outsourced agency for the supply of manpower;

(b) if so, the details thereof ;

(c) the number of staff/manpowers of each category have been engaged by the IRCTC and other departments in the Railways during the last three years and the current year;

(d) the total expenditure incurred by the Railways for payment of manpower of outsourced agencies during the said period;

(e) whether any complaints has been received for outsource scandal in the IRCTC; and

(f) if so, the details thereof ?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI R.VELU)

(a) to (d) : Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has outsourced the provision of manpower. However, most of the departments of Indian Railways do not engage any outside agency for supply of manpower. Only execution of works is entrusted to outside agencies through works contracts or annual maintenance contracts by some departments of Indian Railways.

The details of man power engaged by IRCTC and total expenditure incurred thereto during the last three years and the current year (up to June 2006) is given as under:-
