Question : Skill Development under CSR

(a) whether the Government and the Indian Companies have signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) to promote skill development initiatives under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and if so, the details thereof along with the amount spent by the said companies for the purpose since signing the MoUs, Company-wise;

(b) the number of persons availed benefits of such skill development initiatives across the country since inception of the MoUs, State/UT-wise;

(c) whether the violation of the said MoUs by any of the companies have come to the notice of the Government during the said period;

(d) if so, the details thereof, Company-wise along with the action taken/ being taken by the Government against such companies so far; and

(e) the other efforts taken/being taken by the Government to ensure strict adherence to terms and conditions of the MoUs by the said companies in the country?

Answer given by the minister

(a) to (e) National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with several PSUs and Corporates to promote skill development initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Most of the MoUs are tripartite agreements between, National Skill Development Fund (NSDF), NSDC and the Companies. Details of MoUs signed (till date) alongwith amount spent since signing the MoUs, Company-wise are at Annexure-1. Since inception, 80,980 persons across various States/ UTs have availed benefits of such Skill Development initiatives under CSR, the details of which are at Annexure-2. Government of India through NSDF monitors the achievements of every milestone against disbursement parameters under these MoUs and ensures the deliverables are met as per the agreements. Till now, no violation of the said MoUs by any of the companies has come to notice of the Government.
