(a) whether Department of Company Affairs has issued instructions to all Registrars
of Companies to penalize those companies which do not respond to Company Law Settlement
Scheme, 2000;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the number of such companies penalized by the registrars in
different States;
(c) whether a little publicity was given to this scheme;
(d) if so, the reasons therefor; and
(e) number of extensions made available to companies for submitting documents under the said
schemes?

(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): The Government has introduced a Fast Track Section 560 Scheme which is expiring on
25.12.2000. After completion of the same, prosecutions will be launched.
(c) and (d): Wide publicity was given to the scheme through pamphlets, notices, press releases,
campaign meetings through Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost and
Works Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India and various Chambers
of Commerce all over India.
(e) On expiry of Company Law Settlement Scheme, 2000 on 31.8.2000, extension upto 30.9.2000
was given.
