Question : Beautification of Temples in Odisha

(a) the places of pilgrimages like temples and ancient monuments which are being developed in the State of Odisha;

(b)
whether steps have also been taken for the beautification of such temples and monuments;

(c) if so, whether the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Odisha Unit has made any recommendation in this regard;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the funds provided for the beautification and development?

(a) The conservation, preservation and environmental development work of protected monuments and temples in the country including in the State of Odisha is a continuous process and same is attended regularly by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as per the availability of resources.

(b) Yes Sir. In addition to conservation of monuments the development works are attended keeping regard to the archaeological norms and principles and Conservation Policy of ASI, 2014, with a thrust on retaining originality, authenticity & integrity of protected monuments.

(c) & (d) ASI Odisha Unit submits Annual Conservation Programme following conservation guidelines, archaeological norms & principles and Conservation Policy of ASI which is implemented after due scrutiny.

(e) The funds allocated for conservation, preservation & environmental development work of protected monuments of ASI in Odisha, for current financial year 2020-21, is Rs. 552 lakh.
