Question : Housing for All in Tamil Nadu

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) the physical target fixed by the Government for construction of houses under Housing for All scheme during the last three years in Tamil Nadu;
(b) the details of the houses actually been constructed in the State of Tamil Nadu during the above mentioned years; and
(c) the details of funds allocated under this scheme to the State of Tamil Nadu during the above mentioned two years?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS

(a): Under PMAY(U), target of Government is to provide admissible central assistance for all housing requirement as may be proposed by States/UTs during the Mission period to achieve the goal of ‘Housing for All by 2022’.

(b) Under PMAY(U), 1,576 projects have been sanctioned for construction of 3,12,340 houses of EWS category for the State of Tamil Nadu during the last three years. Of these, construction of 6,809 houses has been completed and 1,40,005 houses are at different stages of construction. In addition to this, 15 projects of Tamil Nadu under erstwhile Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) have been subsumed in PMAY(U) for construction of 4,880 houses, of which 3,917 houses have been completed during the last three years. Further, 1,876 new houses have been acquired by beneficiaries under Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) of PMAY(U).

(c): Rs. 4,848.65 crore of central assistance is involved for construction of the houses sanctioned so far for Tamil Nadu under PMAY(U). Rs. 1,638.80 crore of central assistance has so far been released.
