(a) the objectives of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institutes functioning in the country;
(b) the number of such Institutes in the country, State-wise; and
(c) the details of skill development schemes being run by the ministry?
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SHRI GIRIRAJ SINGH)
(a): The main objective of MSME-Development Institutes is promotion and development of MSMEs. Details are enclosed in Annexure-I.
(b): There are 30 MSME Development Institutes (MSME – DIs) and 28 Branch MSME Development Institutes (Br. MSME – DIs) functioning under Ministry of MSME. State-wise details are enclosed in Annexure-II.
(c): There are two skill development schemes running under the Ministry:
(i) Entrepreneurship Development Programmes under “Promotional Services Institutions and Programmes”
(ii) Assistance to Training Institutions (ATI).
