(a): The details of developmental programmes of Doordarshan and AIR, being
implemented in Gujarat and Maharashtra are given in the Annexure.
(b) & (c): While deciding the locations of AIR/TV Transmitters, various factors
including backwardness/remoteness of the area are taken into consideration. Out of the
projects presently under implementation, 4 AIR projects, 2 each in Maharashtra and
Gujarat are located in Tribal sub-plan districts. Similarly, 6 TV Transmitter projects in
Maharashtra and 4 in Gujarat respectively are located in predominantly Tribal districts.
