Question : Rashtriya Swasthaya Bima Yojana in the Unorganised Sector

(a)the total number of beneficiaries under the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) in the unorganised sector across the country, State/UT-wise;
(b)the total funds allocated under the yojana to the beneficiaries in the country, State/UT-wise;
(c)whether the Government proposes to increase the insurance cover provided under RSBY and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(d)whether the Government has received complaints of malpractices/ irregularities in certain cases under RSBY during each of the last three years and the current year;
(e)if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise along with the action taken/being taken by the Government on such complaints so far; and
(f)the other steps taken/being taken by the Government to increase coverage of RSBY and to keep a check on malpractices/irregularities therein?

(a): The total beneficiaries of Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) till the launch of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) (i.e. 23.09.2018), was 2.75 crore families. With the launch of PMJAY on 23.09.2018, RSBY has been subsumed in it.

(b): Funds under RSBY are not allocated. Funds are released to the State/UTs as Central Share of premium as required by the States/UTs. The State/UTs wise details of Central Share released under RSBY for the last three financial years and current year are at Annexure I.
(c): No Madam, the Government has already launched Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) earlier known as National Health Protection Mission (NHPM) on 23.09.2018 to provide health coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalization to around 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families as per Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) database. RSBY has been subsumed in PMJAY from 23.09.2018.
(d) to (e): No such complaints are received in Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
