(a) the production of steel in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) during 1999-2000;

(b) the annual production / sale in VSP during the last three years, year-wise;

(a) The production of liquid steel in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) during 1999-2000 was 2.656 MT.

(b) The annual production / sale of various products in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant during the last three years is as under:

(d) The reasons for not reaching the full capacity are as under:

i) Present configuration of the Plant at RINL (VSP) leading to difficulties in production scheduling and logistics problems.
ii) Mismatch in the productivity level of converter shop and continuous casting department.
iii) The adverse height / diameter ratio of the converters.
iv) Capacities were planned with maximum heat size of the converters instead of average heat size converters, as is done in other steel plants.
v) Low level of automation in Steel Melt Shop.
