Question : VIGILANCE MONITORING COMMITTEES

to the reply to USQ No. 4530 dated 22.4.2003 and state:

(a) whether all the District Level Monitoring and Vigilance Committees of the State of Orissa held their meetings by March 31, 2003 as per the scheduled date ;

(b) if not, the details of districts that have not held meetings alongwith reasons therefor; and

(c) the time by which these districts are likely to hold their meetings?

(a) No, Sir.

(b) So far seven districts namely Koraput, Boudh, Ganjam, Angul, Kandhmal, Keonjhar and Cuttack have held the first meeting of the Vigilance & Monitoring Committee in the first quarter of 2003. The guidelines for holding the meetings was received by the other DRDAs of Orissa in the 2nd fortnight of March,2003, and due to paucity of time, meetings could not be held by all the Committees by March, 31,2003.

(c) Meetings would be held as per the provision in the guidelines i.e. once in each quarter.
