(a) (b) & (c) The Government has not received any complaint about existence of
illegal courts held by Panchayat Officials in rural areas. There is no proposal
under consideration to bring any amendment to the Constitution (73rd Amendment)
Act 1992 in this regard. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has decided to facilitate
and secure implementation of the Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act, 1992 by States/ UTs
in letter and spirit, by encouraging the States/UTs to adopt carefully drawn up plans of action.
