(a) whether the Government has declared East West (EW) Corridor i.e. Silchar Soweastra Mahasadak
in 1998 and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the length of the Assam Portion of that project and the details of the length in kilometre
that have been completed so far;
(c) whether in the package No. 14 spanning length of 31 Km. between Balacherra and Harangajao,
the construction work has not yet been started and if so, the reasons therefor;
(d) the reasons for handing over the work of package No. 14 to Assam PWD whereas all the remaining
works are being done by NHAI and funded by the Central Government;
(e) whether there is any problem with regard to the approval of the Pollution Control Board; and
(f) if so, the officials responsible for this dilatory process and the action being taken against
the erring departments?
