Question : Beautification of Tourist Places in Bansgaon

(a) whether there is any scheme for the beautification of the tourist places and ancient historical sites at present in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government is aware that there are several tourist places and ancient Temple sites of historical significance in the Parliamentary Constituency of Bansgaon which are in a dilapidated condition; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/ being taken to develop these places as tourist destinations?

(a) & (b): Development, Maintenance and Beautification of tourist places and the ancient historical sites is the responsibilities of the respective State Governments/ U.T. Administrations. The Archaeological Departments of the State Governments/U.Ts and the Archaeological Survey of India are also responsible for the ancient and historical places under their control for the maintenance and beautification of such places. In addition Ministry of Tourism under the Heritage Circuit of Swadesh Darshan scheme approved 10 projects for developments of ancient and historical sites, as detailed at annexure-I.

Ministry of Tourism under its ongoing scheme “Adopt A Heritage” has signed MOUs with the private entities for development and maintenance of basic and advance public amenities at the historical places as CSR initiatives modes. List of such places is given at Annexure-II.

Under its ongoing scheme viz “Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)” also Ministry of Tourism has approved 29 projects for development of pilgrimage infrastructure at old and historical religious structures as detailed at Annexure-III.

(c) & (d): No such proposal for development of tourist places and ancient Temple sites of historical significance in the Parliamentary Constituency of Bansgaon has been received from State Government of Uttar Pradesh.
