STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) TO (f) OF LOK SABHA
STARRED QUESTION NO. *367 FOR ANSWER ON 29TH MARCH, 2022 REGARDING
“ONE DISTRICT, ONE PRODUCT APPROACH IN FPIS”.
(a) to (f): Yes, Sir. The Scheme envisages support to individual micro food processing enterprises/ Self Help Groups (SHGs)/ Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)/ Producer Cooperatives. Presently, the enterprise with an investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment, not more than Rs.1 crore and Annual Turnover not more than Rs. 5 crore are classified as micro enterprises.
One District One Product (ODOP) approach is to provide the framework for value chain development and alignment of support infrastructure. Ministry has approved ODOP for 710 districts in 35 States/ UTs. ODOP has been identified for all 36 districts of Maharashtra. The list of ODOP for the State of Maharashtra is attached at Annexure. ODOP for Parbhani and Osmanabad are Sugarcane based Products (Jaggery) and Pulse based Products (Gram, Moong, Tur- Dal, Flour etc.) respectively.
The following steps have been taken by the government to implement the PMFME Scheme in Maharashtra including selected ODOP districts:
(i). State Nodal Agencies (SNAs), State Level Approval Committees (SLACs) and District Level Committees (DLCs) have been constituted.
(ii). One District One Product (ODOP) for 36 Districts have been approved in State.
(iii). Seed Capital amounting to Rs. 14.20 crore released for 3958 Self Help Group (SHG) Members.
(iv). 3 Incubation Centers have been approved with an outlay of Rs. 7.27 crore.
(v). For capacity building, one State Level Technical Institutes (SLTIs) namely Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Baramati has been nominated.
(vi). 25 Master Trainers and 22 District Level Trainers have been trained. 540 District Resource Persons (DRPs) for 36 Districts have been appointed to provide handholding support to beneficiaries.
(vii). Loan sanctioned to 405 beneficiaries
