(a) the details of the various schemes implemented by the Government for promotion of coconut farming in various States of the country;

(b) the details of the subsidies provided by the Government to coconut palm farmers during the current year, State-wise including Odisha and Tamil Nadu; and

(c) the other measures taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to improve the condition of coconut farmers?

(a): Details of various schemes implemented by Government for promotion of coconut farming in various States of the country are as under:
(i) Production & Distribution of Planting Material, (ii) Area Expansion under Coconut, (iii) Integrated Farming for Productivity Improvement, (iv) Technology Demonstration, (v) Market Promotion & Statistics, (vi) Coconut Palm Insurance Scheme, (vii) Information and Information Technology, (viii) Human Resource Development, (ix) Technology Mission on Coconut, (x) Replanting and Rejuvenation of Coconut Gardens.

(b): State-wise details of subsidies provided by the Government during the current year are annexed.

(c): In addition, the Government has taken following measures to improve the condition of coconut farmers:-
(i) Introduced ‘Kera Suraksha’ Inssurnace Scheme for Coconut Tree Climbers.
(ii) Extension and Publicity to create awareness about the activities in coconut sector.
(iii) Establishment of Research & Development Centres for research and development activities attached to Demonstration-cum-Seed Production (DSP) Farm.
(iv) Friends of Coconut Tree (FoCT) to train unemployed youth in developing special skill and confidence in coconut palm climbing and plant protection activities.

(v) Farmers Producers Organization to encourage coconut farmers to form Coconut Producers Societies (CPS) in order to take up activities on cluster basis.
