Question : TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING



(a) whether the objectives set out with regard to Technical/Tertiary Education and training and voca- tional education during the last three years and the current year have been met;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) the number of beneficiaries and the budget alloca- tion made for the same during the above period; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government to ensure that targets set out under the programme are achieved?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SHRI RAJIV PRATAP RUDY)

(a) to (d) There are over 20 Central Ministries/Departments involved in implementation of more than 70 schemes for vari- ous skill development/ entrepreneurship programmes. The coverage of the schemes is across all the states in the country. The number of beneficiaries under these schemes on skill development during the years 2011-12 to 2014-15, is given below:

 The Finance Minister in his Budget Speech 2015 announced National Skills Mission to be launched through the Mini- stry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to aggregate skill initiatives across the country and provide standar- dised systems and procedures for skills training across various sectors. This will also help in achieving the targets for skill development in the country.
