(a) the total area of land acquired for Bokaro Steel Plant (BSP);

(b) whether a major part of the land was not utilised for the purposes for which it was acquired;

(c) if so, the details thereof;

(d) the details of the total area of land transferred to the individuals, Non-Governmental Organisations, educational institutions and traders out of the land acquired for the BSP;

(e) whether the land has been allotted on lease basis to the beneficiaries;

(f) if so, the period for which the land has been allotted on lease and the rent rates thereof;

(g) if not the method adopted for allotment of land;

(h) whether provisions of the land Acquisition Act, 1894 has been violated;

(i) if so, the action taken thereon; and

(j) the area of land or quarters given on lease during the last three years?

(a) Total area of land acquired for Bokaro Steel Plant is 31287.24 acres.

(b) No, Sir. Land has been utilised for the purpose it was acquired for.

(c) Does not arise.

(d) Details of the total area of land allotted on Lease basis are given below:

1.	Individuals & traders	: 44.30 acres	2.	Non-Govt. Organisations	:	116.32 acres	3.	Educational Institutions	:	206.11 acres
Total 366.73 acres


(e) Yes, Sir.

(f) The land was allotted on lease basis for a period of 30-33 years. The land rent in respect of commercial plots was 1% of the applicable premium and for institutional plots, there was a token rent of Rs.1/-. However, now the land rent is 1% of the applicable premium for all categories.

(j) The area of land given on lease during the last three years is 31846.76 Square Metre and quarters allotted on lease basis from June 2001 to 05.03.2003 are 4579 in numbers.
