Question : Consumer Price Index


(a) whether the Government has any plans to ensure the representation of Members of Parliament in supervision of the implementation of Central and Central funded State projects in their respective constituencies;

(b) if so, the details regarding the steps being taken for the same;

(c) whether the Government has any data regarding the rising benchmark of consumer price index of the country; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF STATISTICS AND PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION, MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF PLANNING AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS [RAO INDERJIT SINGH]

(a) and (b): The guidelines of the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) administered by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) interalia provide that in the meetings held by the District Authorities to review the MPLADS works implementation, they shall invite the Hon''ble Members of Parliament concerned.

(c): MOSPI releases Monthly All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) with Base 2012=100, and inflation rates based thereon, for the country.

(d): The monthly inflation rates based on all India CPI for 2021 are given below:
