Question : ITI Results

(a) the States where the results of the examinations held by Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in February, 2016is pending;

(b) whether the State Government and the Ministry jointly hold ITI examinations which puts more financial pressure on children and also underlines the lack of coordination between the States and the Centre;

(c) the rules with regard to holding ITI examinations and whether the said rules are being complied with;

(d) If not, the action taken against the erring persons/ agencies; and

(e) whether the conduct of ITI examinations by the Ministry is tantamount to transgression of the rights of the State Government and if so, the corrective steps taken by the Government in this regard?

Answer given by the minister

(a) The results of examination conducted in January/February 2016 for ITIs have already been declared for all eligible students and there is no pendency at Ministry.

(b) The examination for ITI students are conducted jointly by the States and the Ministry. Nominal examination fees is being charged from the eligible trainees by respective State Government and a part of it is transferred to Ministry (MSDE) to meet the expenditure for conducting All India Trade Test. There is no lack of coordination between NCVT and State Directorates.

(c) & (d) The rules regarding conducting All India Trade Test are defined by NCVT and these rules are strictly complied by all the stakeholders.

(e) All India Trade Test is conducted under the aegis of NCVT and there is no transgression of the rights of the State Government.
